“At last I understood writing was this: an impulse to share with other people a feeling or truth that I myself had. Not to preach to them, but to give it to them if they cared to hear it.”
- Brenda Ueland, author of If You Want To Write
Lush and full greens. dots of fuchsia flowers. a few tomatoes on a lonely vine. a swinging hammock. thick bamboo like chutes coming through the fence. it’s a backyard. it’s a haven. it’s a place where i can hear myself – nature – and the friendliness of the birds and crickets. the cool air is welcomed after such a hot day. it bathes my skin. isadora’s collection of sticks to chew on grows. i let her leave them in piles if it satisfies her. there are mosquitoes but even they can’t ruin the night. all that’s missing is the soft glow of bulb lights. i think i’ll hang some.
how would you share your backyard?
